Salvation is not based on a baptismal formula or in taking the Lord’s Supper. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the incorrect teachings of the Jesus only doctrine, which goes against the correct teachings of the Trinitarian baptism. Scripture confirms there are three persons of the Godhead; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Brother Larson says since the Oneness doctrine began in 1918, it has hurt the Pentecostal movement by its teaching that salvation only comes by being saved by grace, baptized in Jesus name only, and being baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking with other tongues. Brother Larson says despite these wrong teachings, not all Oneness are lost. The believer must be careful however, when we switch our object of faith from Christ and the Cross to anything else, like a baptismal formula or the ceremony of taking the Lord’s Supper.
