There is an enmity of sin between man and God that can be removed when man is born again. Today on The Message of the Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and the panel discuss justifying peace and sanctifying peace. When we are born again we automatically have justifying peace because our sin is now covered by the blood of Jesus. When we anchor our faith in Christ’s finished work, the Holy Spirit will give us sanctifying peace and go to work on bringing our condition up to our position in Christ. If we put our faith in man’s ways and not in Christ then sanctifying peace is stalled. The Holy Spirit will comfort us when our trust is in Christ and that alone; then and only then, we will find everlasting peace.
