Trust in Christ. He had to be who He was to do what He did. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Galatians 4:8-9 discussing how the death of Jesus Christ on Calvary supersedes all that Moses or the Law ever accomplished. We cannot do what Christ already did. In this scripture, the Holy Spirit is calling anything other than the Cross weak and beggarly elements. Pastor Paris says even things given by God in the Old Covenant would fall into this category The Apostle Paul is teaching faith and trust in the New Covenant alone, i.e., Jesus Christ's finished work; nothing added, the believer here is liberated and here we can stand.
