We must know what we have; we are the heirs of God through Christ. Today on The Message of the Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Galatians 4:5-7 discussing the early church movements of the Holy Spirit and the confusion over the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. Brother Larson explains how this is a second subsequent work that comes after salvation; at salvation, we are justified and sanctified. Pastor Paris explains our need for the Holy Spirit as He comes in at salvation to change us. While sin is not to have dominion over us, we must recognize the sin nature is still present within and can be a problem. The Lord wants to change us from the inside out; this can only be done when we anchor our faith in the Cross, then the Holy Spirit will work on our behalf. If we understand it right, we will see victory, fruit, and the gifts in our lives. Jesus Christ is our only purpose for life and living.
