Is the Law against the promises of God? No, it is not. Today on The Message of the Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the promises of the New Covenant. Studying Galatians and the teachings of the Apostle Paul, we see the Law served its purpose; it was there to bring the promises of God to fruition. Jesus Christ is the New Covenant. He fulfilled all the Law in totality. We now have a better Covenant with better promises. The promise brought life that the Law could not. The Law portrayed what man was, but offered no power to change a man. No law then, or self-efforts today, can remove a sin problem in our lives. When we believe in Christ's finished work alone, the Holy Spirit will work on our behalf and change us into the righteousness of Christ. If ye be led by the Spirit, ye are not under the law. (Galatians 5:18)
