The natural state of fallen man is to serve self. Today on The Message Of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the danger of false doctrine. It is like the scum at the seashore. Brother Swaggart likens the results of false doctrine to that of eternal blackness, a smothering darkness that lasts forever. Brother John says false doctrine must be exposed because if the believer does not recognize it they could lose their faith. The Cross of Christ is where we keep our focus; we must not succumb to the man driven desire to rely on self. Our faith must exclusively remain on the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary where He atoned for all sin; man need only to repent and believe. We must not frustrate the grace of God; He is jealous over us, so His work in us is to bring us to total dependence on Him alone.
