Today on The Message of the Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Galatians 4:26 discussing how true preaching of the gospel will cause conviction to rise up in the listener. The believer must surrender to such conviction and not reject it. The Apostle Paul preached to many that had such conviction, but instead allowed anger to rise up against Paul and his words. Paul was strong to preach respect for the Law of Moses, but at the same time freedom from it because of the finished work of Jesus Christ. Religion with its rules and regimen come against the free gift of salvation in Christ. This is similar to what we see in denominations today. There is nothing but freedom to be found when we anchor our faith in Christ alone.
