At the Cross, the sin nature in the believer’s life is defeated. It is here, and nowhere else that the believer finds union with Christ, and freedom is granted. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel welcome Pastor Tommy Bates from Community Family Church in Independence Kentucky. Reading Galatians 4:21, the panel discusses the working of the Holy Spirit. Brother Bates shares his personal testimony of how the Lord revealed to him how his own personal walk of good deeds had strayed him from knowing it is the Lord’s finished work that puts his personal efforts to shame; for our works are as filthy rags to God. He paid the highest price, where our faith is to be anchored and then God will then put all fellowshipping with Him into proper perspective. When the believer tries to work, through his or her own flesh, to have victory in their walk, this will frustrate the grace of God. We must look unto Jesus Christ alone; He is the author and finisher of our faith.
