The Cross alone has made justification possible. Today on The Message of The Cross, Brother Swaggart and panel discuss how in the Old Covenant, man was justified by looking forward to what Christ would do on the Cross. The Cross is a legal work. Brother John says, we must become a citizen in the world of God by being born again. The lamb sacrifices of the Old Covenant show the importance of the altar and typifies Christ dying on the Cross. Christ became our substitute, for there had to be a sacrifice for all sin of man. When we are baptized into Christ, we become one with Him; figuratively, we die with Him and are risen with Him. Brother Swaggart says in Romans chapter six in the Bible, it tells us how to be saved and born again. When we are crucified with Christ, we become dead to the sin nature and self and the devil cannot destroy us. While man tries to rearrange his nature to combat sin, God gives us a NEW nature.
