Water baptism does not save. It shows forth what has already been done in the heart. Today on The Message of The Cross, Brother Swaggart and panel discuss the words of the Apostle Paul, God sent me not to baptize but to preach the Gospel. Brother John says Titus 3:5 is clear that there are no works of righteousness that can save a man. As our works are as filthy rags, Romans 10:1 tells us a zeal for God can be in willful ignorance if it’s not found in Christ’s righteousness alone. The Cross eliminates all other efforts of man to achieve righteousness. It is the only thing that can address sin.
