The Law addressed the external show of man; the New Covenant addresses the heart of man. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the self-righteousness of the religious man. In Judaism, in that day, they didn’t see Abraham’s faith as his righteousness, but they saw his obedience to the Law as his acquired righteousness. The Apostle Paul was trying to break these 1600 years of law keeping, because Jesus Christ fulfilled all the law. The law details our need for a sacrifice; only Jesus Christ on Calvary’s Cross could fulfill the law that no man could keep.
