Today on The Message of the Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and the panel explain the difference of the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues as a prayer language for the individual believer, and the gift of the Spirit with interpretation that edifies the church as a body. Brother Swaggart says oftentimes many don’t realize these are two different experiences of the Holy Spirit. At Salvation the Holy Spirit takes up residence in our lives; Brother John adds, that then, when the believer asks and receives the infilling of the Holy Spirit the believer’s faith walk will be revolutionized and the gospel will go forth to the uttermost parts of the earth.
