Man is not justified by self-efforts. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss Paul’s teachings to the early church converts who were trying to go back into law. Today the church is the same; anything that’s not of faith, is sin. Believers today may not be practicing temple sacrifices and ceremonies of the law, but many are involved in works of the flesh to try and clean up the sin in their lives. Brother Joseph warns us to not turn to anything that is not of faith; we must not go back to a reliance on self to perform the righteousness of Christ in our lives. When we say yes to Christ as our Savior, we are declared righteous, this is our position; now, the Holy Spirit will go to work to bring our condition up to this position.
