We are dead to the law through the body of Christ. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the Judaizer’s transition out of law, spearheaded by Paul’s teachings to the early church. Timothy picked up the torch following Paul’s death. The church then and now, still wants to hang on to law keeping for salvation, but under the New Covenant we are morally bound to God through Christ. Christ, at Calvary, fulfilled all the law that was given to Israel with the Old Covenant. Jesus takes the law internally, into our hearts, which results in the fruit of the Spirit; the Old Covenant law was external, our New Covenant is in Christ. Our responsibility is to Christ; He is our higher law, when we trust in Him we are law keepers.
