Sin cannot be overcome within our own self-will. We can only be set free by the blood of Jesus. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss restoration. Brother Smith says the Lord, under Holy Spirit conviction, can lead us to repentance; no penance is needed for His forgiveness. Law wrongly brings the idea that a punishment or a penance is required. We cannot pay for our sins, Christ did that. David prayed to the Lord to restore the joy of his salvation.
