If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel welcome Pastor Bob Cornell of Covenant Church in Murfreesboro Tennessee. The panel discusses the sin nature. The believer will see progressive sanctification in their life, as the Holy Spirit will convict of sin. What are we are trusting in? Be careful, self will creep in. We may not have obvious sin, but God sees what's in the heart, like anger or hateful thoughts. In this condition, the Bible warns us of the flesh rising up, and this can result in our faith turning away from Christ’s finished work. Only the Cross of Christ pays the penalty of sin, and it alone has the power to keep sin at bay in a believer’s life. The law or works cannot justify our daily living; we are justified by grace through faith, and this is where we rest so the Holy Spirit will transform us into the image of Christ.
