The Holy Spirit will lead the believer far beyond the keeping of the Ten Commandments. Today on The Message of the Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Galatians 2:19-21, discussing how a believer lives for God. The Old Covenant cannot be mixed with the New. We can draw from the law, but we must know Christ fulfilled the law in totality; therefore, we now live under the law of Christ. Before the Mosaic Law was established, even Abraham lived for God; Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. We must separate from law keeping, for we are in New Covenant with Christ. Through our union with Christ, we are made dead to the law; His death at Calvary paid the penalty for our sin in full. We now are a new creation in Christ Jesus; we should not frustrate the grace of God, for if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
