Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Romans 6:11 discussing how the believer is to account himself dead unto the sin nature. While the sin nature is not dead, we are dead to the sin nature by virtue of the Cross and our faith in that sacrifice, but only as long as our faith continues in the Cross. This is where the believer can live a resurrection life through Jesus Christ our Lord. We must know this refers to what Christ did at the Cross, which is the means of resurrection life. Brother Swaggart says the Apostle Paul deals more with the sin nature in this chapter, maybe, than any other chapter, and unfortunately the subject of the sin nature most Christians do not understand.
