God doesn’t change His mind about sin. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss how men, just like Nebuchadnezzar don’t want to be told they’re wrong. Isaiah reminds us of God’s people telling the prophets don’t give us a hard word, give us a smooth word, something that builds us up. Brother Swaggart says, unfortunately, a lot of churches today only encourage their believers to focus on the here and now; but one of the most beautiful aspects of Christian growth, is that God corrects us when we are wrong. Repentance is the same in the New Covenant as it was in the Old Covenant. God doesn’t want us to live in sin or pay our own penalty that sin brings. Jesus Christ paid that debt on our behalf on Calvary’s Cross.
