Your idols will do you no good. O you king, the most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father, learn from this. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the fifth chapter of Daniel. Daniel tells Belshazzar that he can’t be bought; he’s not there for money. Belshazzar promises Daniel the position of the third ruler in the kingdom, but Daniel knew that in just a few hours, there would be no more kingdom. Daniel emphatically states that the might, majesty, splendor, glory and greatness of the Babylonian Empire were all because of the Most High God, and not foolish idols. Daniel is really telling the king, that his father, Nebuchadnezzar, despite being a powerful man, it was God who was in control.
