Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Romans 6:20, for when you were the servants of sin. The word servant, in this scripture, means a slave, a slave to sin. Sin makes a slave of people. Before salvation, we find we are no longer our own, but servants of Satan. It is a terrible position to be in when we are servants to sin. Brother Swaggart says most of the population of the world today falls into this category; that is, being slaves to evil passions. Sin is a peculiar thing. It has an attractiveness to it that pulls people into its mall, and it also has a bondage attached to it to keep people there. Jesus Christ alone, and His finished work on the Cross, is the only solution for it.
