Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel welcome special guest Pastor Italo Frigoli, discussing the power of God in salvation and altar calls. Brother Swaggart remembers his first meeting outside of the continental United States, in Central America, preaching on more abundant life. He recalls a man, with a drastic limp, coming forward during the altar call; he came to the platform, reached into his coat pocket, and pulled out a thirty eight revolver. The man said, one year ago today, in Panama City, which was across the isthmus, a man had shot him leaving him handicapped. He said, I’m half a man now, and after stewing over this, for this entire year, I had made up my mind I was going to kill him. But tonight, I just gave my heart to Jesus Christ, and that all has changed. Brother Swaggart says that’s the power of God. That man’s testimony didn’t stop there; Brother Swaggart was telling this same story at a crusade in Panama, twenty years later, and that same man came up to tell him, he is now pastoring in the Republic of Panama.
