Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss Daniel 9:15; And now O Lord our God, who has brought your people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and have gotten you renowned as that this day, we have sinned, we have done wickedly. The short phrase, your people tell us that Israel, even in apostasy and dispersion was considered the chosen people of God. This designation has to do only with the promises and Covenants, and in no way specifies salvation. But thank God, there is coming a day that salvation will be in the fore for Israel. The law was a Covenant that came after the Abrahamic Covenant, but it was concluded. Israel should have left the Abrahamic Covenant number one, because that was the faith Covenant. Brother Swaggart says this was Israel’s mistake, she put the Mosaic Law first, and should not have because her existence depended on the Abrahamic Covenant.
