Faith is what produces righteousness; no works of man can make one holy. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss how a believer can be set free from sin in their lives. Jesus died on Calvary’s Cross for the past, present, and future sins of mankind. Salvation is not found in the arm of our flesh, or in the rituals of what we do; we cannot keep the law, our rituals will nullify justification. When self dies, and our faith is anchored in the sacrificial death of Christ alone, then the Holy Spirit will develop proper works in a believer’s live. The believer must be careful to not put their faith in their works; nothing in my hand I bring, only to the Cross I cling. Our faith must stay anchored in Christ’s finished work alone.
