Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel welcome special guest Pastor Mike Mounce from At The Cross Family Worship Center in Cuba Missouri. The panel discusses how Jesus Christ must never be separated from the Cross, as it regards His redemptive work. The Apostle Paul is like that of a lawyer, clearly stating what does not produce righteousness; proclaiming that righteousness comes by faith alone. In Romans 4:1-16, Paul says, righteousness does not come through circumcision, or any law, but by a promise. Man has a tendency to put their faith in some work/effort that they do. We like the accolades that go with, look what I’ve done. But God’s way is clear, we don't get any credit, and we don't deserve any credit; all of it goes to the Lord Jesus Christ. Our faith alone, in His finished work on the Cross, is what causes the Holy Spirit to work in the life of everyone who will only believe.
