THIS IS THE SOUND OF JUBILEE- Tonight at Crossfire, Pastor Shaun Murphy reads Luke 4:16-21 teaching on the the rest that is found in Jesus Christ. The Jubilee was the Year of the Lord’s Favor, the acceptable year of the Lord. God gave it under the Mosaic covenant in Leviticus chapter 25. The Jubilee was similar to the Sabbath rest. There were six days of labor, and then the seventh day there was rest. Jubilee was six years of labor, and then the seventh year God allowed the land to rest with no harvesting, no planting seed, no toiling with the ground, which typified a return to what it was like in Eden, before the fall, when Adam and Eve fell, the curse came that now man would have to work the land. These events, all symbolic to the good news of our coming Savior Jesus Christ, for He is our rest, and fulfilled all of the Old Covenant laws. Every event pointed to Him laying down His life for our iniquities, for our guilt, for our sin, that the stripes on His back would be for our healing. There is judgment for sin, captivity is the result of it; but the good news, a suffering servant is coming, bringing liberty and life. It’s no longer just a year, but a person. Jesus Christ is the Jubilee, and every liberty, deliverance, and blessing is available to the believer today.
