THE MISSION OF JESUS— O what a gift! Tonight at Crossfire, Pastor Bob Cornell preaches from the Gospel of Luke exalting the gift of Jesus. This is when the Word, became flesh as John described in John chapter 1, and dwelt among us. The angel, Gabriel says to Mary, fear not Mary, for you have found favor in the eyes of God, and behold you shall conceive in your womb and bring forth a son, and shall call his name Jesus. This is one of the most amazing messages ever given. You’re going to give birth to the Son of God, and He shall be the Son of the Most High. And His name shall be called Jesus; and Jews in that day, they knew what that name meant. It was Yeshua, in Hebrew it means Savior. You’re going to give birth to the Savior, and Mary’s response was how can this be? This is about the mission of Jesus, the Son of God coming to this earth as God’s gift to humanity.
