Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Swaggart and panel explain the difference of tongues as a prayer language for the believer and how it edifies us personally, versus the gift of tongues and interpretation, which is given in a church setting or in a group of believer, which is meant to edify all who hear. Tongues is not a mandate for salvation, as some erroneously teach; but it is but a sign of someone who has already been saved. The panel also discusses the topics of tithing, drinking alcohol, fasting, and prayer. Salvation is not based on a man's performance, because all have sinned, but it is reliant on our faith in the finished work of Christ that justifies us. Properly placed faith in Christ crucified, will result in the Holy Spirit leading us and convicting us of sin in our lives that is not pleasing to God.
