Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Swaggart and panel read Luke 10:30-35 teaching on the story of the Good Samaritan, and how it sometimes will cost us something to do that which God calls us to do. Reading Colossians 2:16 and 17, the panel discusses the types and shadows of the Law of old that all pointed to Christ to come. The Sabbath day, under the Old Covenant, was a day of rest; in the New Covenant, we have a rest everyday because of what Christ did on Calvary's Cross. In Acts chapter ten, we read Peter had a reoccurring vision to not call unclean what Christ had cleaned. Dr. Dupree says this story shows us, even for Peter who walked the earth with Christ; we can let the bondages of our background hinder our understanding. It takes time to let go of false teaching and wrong habits to be broken. We have a choice to stay with our legalism or come to Christ. Jesus Christ fulfilled all the law with His death on Calvary's Cross; this is where the believer is set free.
