Today on The Generation of The Cross, Pastor Gabriel Swaggart welcomes Josh Rosenstern to continue his study on Dispensations. Studying from Ephesians 1:9-10, we see the well ordered plan of God as it is laid out in His Word. They discuss the eight major Dispensations beginning with Innocence to the Dispensation of Perfection; looking today at the Dispensation of Law. The Law breaks down into three categories; moral, civil and ceremonial. These aspects, all point to Jesus Christ which satisfied the demand of God through the means of the Cross. The law was given to define to man what God expected; without it, how could man have an understanding of how we fail God? In Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy we see the Law laid out to the children of Israel. Exodus Chapter 20, specifically, details the fear the Israelites felt under the presence of God. Brother Josh says we are born into sin, so we are born law breakers. The purpose of the Law was to define sin and idolatry to man. Man could never perfectly keep the Ten Commandments, only Christ could do that; thus our faith must be exclusively In Christ. We must abide in the Law Keeper.
