Today on Insight, John and Josh Rosenstern discuss the House of Representatives end vote on the H. R. 26 Act. This is a born alive bill, named Abortion Survivor’s Protection Act. All of the U.S. House Republicans voted in favor of saving the infant, while 210 Democrats voted against, with only one Democrat voting to protect the child. This means, if there is a live birth after an abortion fails, the infant is considered a legal person and should be protected by law as a human being and have the right to life. This would mean the child could not be left to die, but require all healthcare personnel involved in the procedure to try and protect the infant, as they would for any child needing medical care. If the healthcare workers do not assist the infant after a failed abortion they must be reported. Would you vote yes or no? Two hundred and ten of our United States Congress say the infant should be left to die, unassisted after its birth.
