Today on Insight, John and Josh Rosenstern discuss several important pending Supreme Court decisions regarding 1st Amendment rights and religious rights. One case, out of the Bremerton School District in Washington State, involves a high school football coach who prayed on the field after games; when the school asked him to stop praying publicly, he chose to sue the school. Brother Josh says this will be a precedent setting case if the Supreme Court overturns the lower court’s ruling. Another case, out of Maine, will address the rights of private Christian schools who do not want to be forced to hire LGBTQ members who apply for teaching positions because their schools teach biblical principles against that lifestyle. Brother Josh says we need to pray that religious freedoms will be upheld; other decisions coming before the court regard conceal and carry laws and immigration.
