There is no shortage of the Word of God in the land, but there is a shortage of reading it. Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Swaggart and panel discuss the various Bible translations and the history behind them. The best bible to learn the truth of God’s Word is to read a word for word translation, and that rules out the possibility for inaccurate elaboration of the original language the bible was written in. The King James Bible, New American Standard, and the English Standard Version are word for word translation bibles. Brother Mike says these are the most accurate translations available today. For in these, the viewpoint or theology of the translator will not be interjected into the translations. We must understand the difference between a translation and a paraphrase bible. In a paraphrase bible, we find what the writer thinks the verse means, like in the Message bible, which is not pleasing to God. The panel goes on to explain the church ordinances of water baptism and the taking of communion.
