Every believer can walk a victorious life when their faith is anchored in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Today on The Message of the Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the process of sanctification. We cannot sanctify ourselves. Justification, of course, is first and foremost when we are born again; there every unbeliever is washed, sanctified, and justified. Now, in a progressive sanctification, the Holy Spirit is the mechanic of God’s grace in an ongoing work of changing us into the image of Christ. The one in whom we have faith is perfect, and by faith, we are given His perfection. Our position is IN CHRIST immediately at salvation, and the Lord wants to bring our condition up to that position. Brother Swaggart says sit down, rest, and see what God will do.
