Today on The Message of The Cross, Brother Swaggart and panel begin a new series of discussions on Brother Swaggart’s Book entitled how can I understand the Bible. The panel begins to go through the many doctrines of the Bible. Scripture Genesis 4:3, begins with the story of Cain and Abel which is the first example of man verses the world, with Cain bringing the work of his own hands. Brother Swaggart says the blight of the modern church is just this, because far too often men are working by their own ideas and not seeking the Lord for His guidance. The panel discusses how we lean on our own works and efforts, as Cain. Brother Loren Larson says we need more Abels in the church, those who rely solely on the work of Christ on Calvary’s Cross. Then, there needed to be a sacrifice of blood for a sin covering, and today is still the same; the sacrifice of Christ’s blood is to be our covering.
