And lead us not into temptation. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart reminds us that we cannot protect ourselves from temptation and trials. God has provided us a way of escape through the Cross of Christ. Our faith must be in Christ alone and nothing else. Brother Swaggart says, unfortunately many churches and bible colleges alike, teach man that humanistic psychology, in some fashion, helps in our fight to overcome sin. Be sure, this would be putting faith in another way, and veering away from the Cross, i.e. putting faith in self efforts. Brother Larson says, just as Israel went into the Promise Land as God’s people, then they mixed with the other nations and you couldn’t tell who was who. We must not mix anything with the truth of the Gospel which is given in the Word of God. The church must never leave the Word of God. What Christ did on Calvary’s Cross is the only way to live a victorious Christian life.
