We must not depend on our flesh for victory. Today on The Message of The Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Galatians 5:18 discussing how to have victory by depending on Christ alone. Too often, as Christians we struggle with the clinging vines of the fall, and think in and of ourselves we can do something to please God and stop the sin in our lives. We cannot depend on law or self, for we have been delivered from the law, and now we can serve in newness of Spirit, and not the oldness of the letter. We must know, and believe, that through the truth in the finished work of Christ, He already won all of our battles at Calvary’s Cross. Anchoring our faith in what He did, and rest in that, the Holy Spirit will go to work on our behalf to rid us from those things in our lives that are not pleasing to God.
