FROM A SLAVE TO A SON- Tonight at Family Worship Center, Pastor Donnie Swaggart and panel read Philemon 1:9 as they discuss how Paul addressed Philemon in his letter from a Roman prison, looking at the culture of slavery in that day. Under the law, every seventh year, the slave was to be let go, but many slaves didn’t want to leave for they loved their master and would choose to stay and be a bond slave. Onesimus was a runaway slave, who had stolen from Philemon; his money was running out, and in his distraught situation Paul led him to salvation. In this story of Onesimus, we see how at salvation, we become a son or daughter of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, becoming true servants of Jesus Christ.
