Seek those things, which are above. Tonight at Family Worship Center, Pastor Donnie Swaggart and panel read Colossians 3:5-9 looking at the Apostle Paul’s teachings on Christian character, conduct, and living. Everything in the believer’s life should be centered on being obedient to God’s Word and pleasing Him. The greatest battle the believer faces is the warring between the Spirit and the flesh. At salvation we receive the divine nature; however, the sin nature remains. Only faith in the finished work of Christ can keep the sin nature unplugged. This is how the deeds of the flesh are mortified. Relying on our own self-efforts, instead of trusting in Christ’s finished work, hinders the Holy Spirit from working in us, and it causes the sin nature to rise up again. If we believe wrong, all will go wrong in our lives. We have a perfect salvation. On the Cross, Christ’s death was a sinless, perfect sacrifice accepted by God; therefore, when Christ came out of the tomb, it ratified what the sacrifice was all about. His victory is our victory.
