Jesus Christ is the head of the church, and the Holy Spirit calls those who will lead and pastor. Tonight at Family Worship Center, Pastor Donnie Swaggart and panel read Titus 1:5-7 teaching on proper church government. The direction of the church belongs to the pastor who is seeking and hearing from God. A church should not be directed by the laity and voting, but must have confidence that the pastor is led by God. The panel warns how board driven churches rarely grow, and are behind much of the problems in America’s churches. God calls and God ordains. Ordination services are to recognize the call of God on an individual’s life. In the eyes of God, despite the title, the calling is the same.
