All doctrine must be built upon the Cross of Christ. Tonight at Family Worship Center, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read from Hebrews and 1st Peter. Brother Swaggart says God knew his plan to save humanity before the foundation of the world. Christ's death on the Cross purged us from our sins. His death was a one-time sacrifice, never to be repeated. He paid the debt for all sin. He is our High Priest and our Lamb of God. Christ was sinless, but became a sin offering on our behalf. In the Old Covenant, the blood of bulls and goats only covered sin; it couldn’t atone for sin, but the blood of Christ atoned for all sin. The panel warns that every church movement that leads people away from the Cross only leads to more deception and sin. Accepting the blood of Jesus will find the repentant sinner washed, sanctified, and justified; then, the Holy Spirit will come bringing us progressive sanctification, and a victorious Christian life will be the result. Brother Gabe encourages us through our struggles to just praise the Lord and trust, because we can’t complain when we are praising.
