Our faith in the finished work of Christ is essential. Today on A Study in The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel continue their study in the Book of Romans. At salvation, we are recreated, but we’re also united with Christ, baptized into Christ, and it is this union with Christ that frees us from the power of sin, frees us from the dominion of sin. We see in Romans chapter five, and at the end of chapter six, being baptized into Christ frees us from the sin nature and causes us to become a new creation; then, the Holy Spirit immediately takes up residence within us. Brother Swaggart says the main stumbling block, at this point for most believers is understanding and trusting the Holy Spirit to do for us what we can’t do for ourselves.
