Jesus Christ atoned for all sin at the Cross, and sin is the problem of mankind. The Holy Spirit could not function as God intended in the life of a believer until Jesus Christ died on Calvary’s Cross. When our faith is anchored in the Cross of Christ, the Holy Spirit will go to work on our behalf to allow us to live a victorious Christian life. The panel discusses the history behind Pentecost where the experience there of the infilling baptism of the Spirit evidenced by speaking in tongues took eyes off the Cross for sanctification at regeneration, and eyes moved to the experience of the baptism for victory over sin, which confused the church greatly. When the believer stays with eyes and heart anchored on the Cross of Christ, then and only then can the Spirit move in a life correctly.
