Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the power of the sin nature. When we repent to the Lord, we are forgiven of our sin and are made a new creation, as we are crucified with Christ. Here the believer is united with Christ as a result of our faith. Now we must know that we are forever dependent upon Christ and the Holy Spirit, and not ourselves. The Apostle Paul said we must not frustrate the grace of God. This means that righteousness cannot come by the law or works. We must keep our faith in the finished work of Christ alone, for if we put our faith in anything else the Holy Spirit cannot work on our behalf to make us into the image of Christ.
