The Law cannot justify nor sanctify a believer. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel study in the Book of Romans discuss how believers today are dead to the Law. The Old Covenant law held no power for a believer to overcome sin. The Old Covenant believer tried to maintain their faith by their own self will. The Apostle Paul’s greatest challenge was to teach the new converts that Christ death on the Cross gave the believer a new source of power, the Holy Spirit. Now, the Holy Spirit lives inside a person under a new government, the New Covenant in Christ; however, believers today will try to create their own laws and works to help them live a Godly life. Self-efforts will only fuel failure in a life for only faith in the finished work of Christ can bring about a victorious Christian life.
