Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the ways and means by which the believer is to live in the New Covenant. Our faith must be anchored in the finished work of Jesus Christ alone and nothing else. The panel emphasizes the importance of understanding that faith and knowledge are two different things. Believers need to beware that pride in self doesn’t leave us puffed up in our own self-efforts. The message of the Cross is the only way that will open up the power of the Holy Spirit to reveal to us what God’s will for our lives. Only the right message can bring revelation; there is no other way to gain insight into the things of God. The Apostle Paul said Christ and Him crucified gives the corrective lens to see and understand scripture. Jesus Christ is the New Covenant. Believers cannot live out a victorious Christian life without knowing receiving and believing His finished work alone.
