The Old Covenant was a beautiful covenant, but that is not our covenant today; we have a New Covenant in Christ Jesus. Today on A Study In the Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel explain the similarities of the two covenants, but how we are not accountable to Moses and the law, but are accountable to Christ’s law. He fulfilled the old in totality. We must place our faith exclusively in the finished work of Christ to be in covenant with Him. The Apostle Paul said we must not frustrate the grace of God when seeking to live this Christian life, as God would expect. Brother Larson says the Cross strips away the works of religion and leaves the believer with two things, the person of Christ and His finished work; then, the Holy Spirit goes to work on our behalf, conforming us into the image of Christ.
