God judges the heart. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss how all the world might become guilty before God when law is presented. By the deeds of the law, there shall no flesh be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. It revealed the inner problem of the heart of the person. Paul was a Hebrew of Hebrews, and outwardly speaking probably kept the deeds of the law, but his conscience bore witness to him that he was coveting after he got saved; he realized that the law had its purpose and its place. As much as Paul desired to do right, he understood the sin in his heart was causing him to still miss the mark. Paul teaches the circumcision of the heart in the New Covenant because they needed a covenant that Paul could actually enable them to obey the Spirit of the Law. Jesus dealt with the Spirit of the Law.
