Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss Daniel 9:1, in the first year of Darius, the son of the Ahasuerus, the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans. The unique glory of this chapter, and of this prophecy is that this alone foretold the time of the Messiah’s appearing and the very year of His crucifixion. Daniel’s third vision is detailed; on the night the Babylonian kingdom fell, Daniel was called, really out of almost retirement, no one was using him. And he interpreted the handwriting on the wall; and even as almost his last act, Belshazzar did give him a ring of gold around his neck, and clothed him with a robe of royalty and gave him a position; he was not an opponent to the Medes and the Persians, but an advisor.
