Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the great sanctification move in the 1700’s under the Wesley’s; when much of the balance of the church world had lost its way. The great holiness move came in on the tail end of the sanctification move. As it waned, and weakened, the mighty Holy Ghost move came, which was the most powerful move the world had ever known. It is believed, over 500 million people have been baptized with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking with other tongues. Brother Swaggart says, God used the Pentecostal’s in a phenomenal way to touch this world. Since then, many denominations have shrunk tremendously, including Pentecostals; the panel discusses how the effectiveness of the Gospel is being neutralized by incorrect teachings, bringing in psychology and word of faith, among other false doctrines.
